And How ExcelCube Came Into Being

ExcelCube was developed by Business Intelligence professionals to fill a significant void for Excel users needing to consolidate and maintain large numbers of Excel files.

All of our clients used Excel throughout their companies, and we were often asked to provide interfaces to and from Excel, so users could work with input and consolidated data within Excel.

Typical installations in large firms involved thousands of entities flowing into hundreds of levels of consolidation in several structures. Capabilities for exception reporting, currency conversion, journal entries and audit trails, security, and other accounting controls were required.

The need was obvious for a straightforward approach to add up Excel workbooks without intermediate steps, duplicating data, or using linking formulas.

In the end, what was clear that our users had data in numerous excel workbooks, needed to consolidate them and sought to get the information back into Excel. With ExcelCube, they do that without the need for software systems in between. Everything is in Excel and remains in Excel.
